The Door-Opening Queen Who Found Her Forever Pack
Some dogs open hearts. Frida opens doors.
Literally.
Frida is a beautiful Husky-Shepherd mix with striking eyes and a spirit as wild and wonderful as the wind. For six years, she was a beloved member of a family. But like too many animals, she was abandoned—left behind when she needed her people the most. Facing the unimaginable, Frida was on her way to a high-kill shelter when Saint Martin’s Animal Foundation stepped in.
From the moment she arrived, it was clear Frida was no ordinary pup. She quickly became known for her unique talent—opening doors, unlocking Arcadia windows, and slipping through screen doors like an escape artist in disguise. Add in a dash of clingy affection, and you’ve got one wonderfully quirky girl with a big personality.
We tried for months to find her the perfect home, but sometimes the universe has other plans. Over time, it became clear that Frida already found her forever home—right here with us. She’s now a permanent member of our senior pack at the rescue house, spending her days lounging in the sun, investigating mysterious creaks in the hallway, and occasionally letting herself out for a stroll.
Frida is a reminder that every dog—no matter how quirky, needy, or door-savvy—deserves love, safety, and belonging. She’s not just a rescue. She’s family.
Here’s to Frida. To her wild heart, her clever paws, and her second chance.
Cheers to our door-opening queen.
